Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a vehicle in the median of I-495 in Foxborough at around 3:30 a.m. after being notified by a representative of the OnStar navigation system that the driver of the car reported hitting a deer.

Troopers found the 2011 Mercedes Maybach, registered to Spikes, abandoned in the median with damage to the front end. The driver of the car was no longer at the scene of the crash.

Police said they did not find a deer near the Mercedes.

Police received a call shortly after 3:30 a.m. that a 2009 Nissan Murano on I-495 northbound in Foxborough had been hit by a vehicle they did not see. This crash was in the area where Spikes' car was found, according to police.

The three occupants in that vehicle, a 51-year-old man, 32-year-old woman and 12 year-old boy, all of Billerica, were taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A Massachusetts State Police spokesman said no charges have been filed in either crash as of Sunday afternoon, but police continue to investigate whether there is any connection between the incidents.

An investigation into who was driving the Mercedes registered to Spikes at the time of the crash is also ongoing.

Patriots spokesman Stacey James issued a brief statement saying the team was looking into the incident involving Spikes' car.

"We are aware of the report and are looking into the matter, but I don't have any additional comment at this time," James said in the statement.

I of course have no idea of what really happened, but I am sorry that does not look like 'Deer' damage to me. Any car I have seen that has hit a Deer, and I have seen a few, the damage is to the upper hood, and windshield area. Hopefully, the three people injured from the 'unseen vehicle' fully recover.
