Glass-banging hockey fan knocked down by hit in Canadiens game

Glass-banging fans. The scourge of any hockey arena.

As we’ve chronicled before on Puck Daddy, banging on the glass during a fight or a scrum adds to the Thunderdome aesthetic of that occurrence. But the idiots that jump out of their corporately owned seats and put palms to panes whenever there’s a player within five feet of their viewing window … well, there really isn’t enough overpriced arena beer with which to soak them.

Seriously, "Idiots That Bang On The Glass" make "People Who Yell SHOOT During The Power Play" seem downright affable.

If you feel the same about [expletive] bangerz (tm, Miley), this highlight from Thursday’s Columbus Blue Jackets’ game at the Montreal Canadiens should be cathartic.

For Ipad users:

Obviously, we hope the fan that took a tumble on that collision was OK, and was able to quickly comprehend the concept of karma.

This has been a Public Service Announcement on behalf of Everyone Else In Your Section.

Lol, I was at that unfortunate game, never noticed, that...
Quite funny, I wonder if they will continue after that?
Too funny...
Tonight's game Habs against Toronto is the epic rivalry for Canada.
Hope Mtl fair better, cause Toronto will be very hungry, for this one!

Well as a Tampa Bay Lightning season ticket holder, I want Toronto to win this game so Tampa has more breathing room!

The most pathetic NHL answer on ‘Jeopardy!’ ever

Alex Trebek is, in our estimation, the greatest living Canadian that never played in the NHL nor was a featured player on a sketch comedy program. So why does he allow “Jeopardy!” to continue to troll the coolest sport on Earth?

Yet another case in point: This week, a contestant on the esteemed syndicated quiz show was given was should have been a layup:

For Ipad users:

Look, the “Jeopardy!” producers aren’t naïve. They know they’re dealing with a collection of eggheads, bookworms and Sheldon from “The Big Bang Theory.” The only time you’re going to see an in-depth sports question is during College Week, because those contestants have yet to replace the athletic trivia in their brains with nonsense like “17th Century Cabinet Making.”

So most sports questions are begging for the obvious answer – save for ones about baseball and tennis, because “eggheads” – and hence any question about hockey stats will have an answer of “Wayne Gretzky.”

Which brings us to this week’s disaster

So please, Trebek, no more hockey questions. It pains us they know more about supporting characters in Dickens novellas than who the Minnesota Wild are.

We see another hockey question botched, we send Sean Connery after you. That’s the Chicago way, laddie.

Best Hockey non fight ever!!!

Hockey fight ends with hug, beer toast, peace sign and no punches

It was a scene that plays out in many minor hockey leagues, where shots to the chin are as frequent as shots on goal: The Federal Hockey League’s Matt Puntureri of the Danville Dashers and Jesse Felton of the Dayton Demonz – the ‘Z’ is no doubt because they’re EXTREME – skating away from a faceoff to center ice, where the spotlight would fall on their fight.

They skated around. They removed equipment. But at the moment when fists would typically start flying, the complete opposite happened:

Puntureri hugged Felton.

Then he removed a can of beer from his pants, had a sip and flashed a peace sign at the benches.
