I have oil buildup in the 2 left side breather hoses. Also there is oil build up in the ports coming from the breather as well. The one that goes to the MAF is coated all the way through although the MAF is clean. What causes this and what needs to change to fix it?

My SLK 230 is very similar and I just performed the procedure. Must say a PITA but if you have patience and especially right tools it's doable!!

JaysonM-Really interesting article that was attached to the instructions. My engine M112 is a little different so I do not know if the parts are the same. The breather configuration is definitely different and the MAF is clean, so I am a little confused. I know my engine has two long thin tubes (aluminum i think, maybe brass) that draw the oil into the breather. They are long and thin like a drinking straw. There were instructions when replacing the silicone seal to be careful not to get those tubes blocked because it would foul the engine. Not sure where to go from here as the article goes on to mention that this issue is really only related to the Compressor engines. Obviously, there has been oil in the hoses, just not sure how to clean the 112 engine.

BTW-What is blow back? I have been reading posts on oil consumption and that term is used a lot. How do you tell if you have it?
