The CDi is very quiet, the best thing to do is get a test drive. There are loads about, so it should be easy to get one for test.
Only the 9-speed cars from July 2015 onwards have the adblue injection. Your target car (2013/2014) would not have it. It does mean that the earlier cars are not EU6 emissions standards so potentially you could be banned from central London in the future, but that's not exactly a hardship for me!Hi AAAA
That's good to know , your engine is in the new 200d but is it the same engine as the 250 cdi . I to would turn off the stop start . How do you get on with having to add urea every now and then .
Michael.

The brochure should have that info., on-line or hard copy if they are in the dealers, they had none when I last called in.Thankyou all for the info.
Does anyone know what standard equipment comes with the car . It is hard to look for one and get everything you want if you do not know.
Michael.:wink::surprise:
I think fully loaded examples are rare because almost all CDi 250s are company lease cars and any extra has to be paid for in full across the term of the lease so a £500 option over 4 years is £10/month. Mercedes UK massively subsidise the basic lease because it drives market share from the Audi TT TDi that previously was the only premium sporty diesel sportscar on the market. So adding COMAND at £2500 to a £250/month 2 year 20,000 mile lease makes it a £350/month lease. So no-one specs COMAND, or xenons, or the Driver Pack, all of which are highly desirable but you almost never see them on a CDi 250.The brochure should have that info., on-line or hard copy if they are in the dealers, they had none when I last called in.
You do have to be careful with dealers stock new & used because at first glance they have most of the goodies then a close inspection reveals no COMMAND, or no parking sensors. More obvious is the cloth upholstery & lack of AIRSCARF, the latter essential.
Fully loaded new examples are rare as this pushes up the price to an embarrassing level. I suspect many SLK's are sold to ladees that like to potter around to the gym & lunch with chums & wouldn't be seen dead behind any other badge. As long as the car impresses who cares if it has a fancy ICE or that the mirror doesn't dip automatically.
For the 2014 MY the top end of engine (especially the injection system) was upgraded and the newer ones are much quieter. I always complained bitterly about my MY2013 car but the MY2015 one I have now is perfectly acceptable at idle and very quiet on the motorway.My SLK 250 cdi sound just like the Mercedes vans we have at work and wish I had gone for a petrol one. I know this my seem strange but our VW Jetta is a diesel 2L with DSG and is a miles ahead smooth engine fantastic gear box and quiet.
That explains a lot - others have commented on the difference - but no-one explained why.For the 2014 MY the top end of engine (especially the injection system) was upgraded and the newer ones are much quieter.
