I've been an SLK owner about two weeks. I've wanted a two- seater since before I got a driver's license, over fifty years ago. I recently read a biography about Paul Newman and was impressed with the Way he lived his life to the fullest, even racing into his seventies. As my " handle" implies, I decided to take the plunge while I still can.

I live on a lake which has 275 miles of shoreline with many two- lane, low traffic, shady, tree lined, hilly, curvy side roads leading to the lake. I have begun the process of exploring these roads, enjoying beautiful, interesting scenery while riding slowly with the top down listening to travel music like "Me and My Bobby McGee" and anything by Willie Nelson - especially "On the Road Again."

I'm excited about joining your group with tastes and interests similar to my own. I've been impressed with how helpful and courteous the members are and look forward to getting to know you. Ed

Hello neighbor!!
I'm from B'ham Al as well
You must live on Smith Lake, that is beautiful country.
Don't forget about the Smokies for driving. I've done the Tail of the Dragon and surrounding area three times in the past few months- incomparable roads for driving.

Welcome Ed. There is nothing more I enjoy than listening to 1930s-50s music with the top down on the country roads here in Southern Maryland. And like you its taken me 50 years to get to that point.

My honey and I rode around shady roads for about an hour and a half this afternoon. Cool, top down. Music playing. It was perfect! Thanks for your message.
