Hi,

My name's Tim and I just purchased a very lightly used 2014 SLK250 last Thursday, June 11th from Beaverton Mercedes-Benz. It only had 6500 miles on it! It's Polar White with the Bengal Red leather interior, and has the Sports and Premium packages. It's an absolutely stunning color combination, IMHO.

I traded in a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Grand Touring with 85k miles on it. Even though I'm giving up 105hp, this SLK250 feels every bit as quick. And miles ahead in that solid feeling of high-quality engineering and build. Although I've only had less than one week, it seems like a very fun, fabulous ride.

My weekend nice weather, fun car is a rare 1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo with only 114k miles on it. Out of only 395 originally made for the U.S. market, who knows how many of these are left on the roads today. And the one I picked up is in fantastic condition. So I guess I now own 2 two-seat sports cars! :)

Anyway, good to be here, and looking forward to learning more about the SLK250 and all of you. If you're in the PDX metro area and want to meet up to chat about our cars, feel free to hit me up.

Cheers,

Tim

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Welcome from Portland/Clackamas, Oregon. If you enjoy getting together with other enthusiasts, check out the SLK NW Group under the clubs section of the forum. They are based out of the Seattle area but have lots of event outside of the area. Some are even down our way. Also for a newer forming group a little closer to home, check out the Beaver State SLK's group. They can be found by going to tools on the main tool bar, then to quick links and finally social groups.

Welcome from Hillsboro, Oregon Tim! M-B of Beaverton is a great place; we've shifted service on both our cars there. Like Dave said, check out the Beaver State Group. If you can, join our car corral with Portland MBCA at the Portland Vintage Festival at PIR next month. Great vintage racing, and you get to marinate in voluptuous sheetmetal, partially burned hydrocarbons, and noise!

Wow, worldwide replies. Cool!

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'll get some pics posted up here as soon as I can, although I'm sure you all know what a white 2014 SLK250 looks like... ;)

Can someone explain to me what this R171, R172, etc, stuff means?
