Hi, I'm Robert from Centerville,Ga. My wife and I recently became the happy owners of a 2000 SLK 230 Kompressor. Just 74,000 miles, very good condition. Just had an extremly nice January weekend and spent the weekend cruising top down. So far we're loving it.

Welcome to the site. I don't know if the "Mercedes enthusiast" magazine is available in the states but the Jan issue has some interesting all SLK model reviews.... I do think that the American fenders on the R170 look better than the European ones. The 230 is a nice car, I had my 230 for about two and a half years and other than a front wheel sensor, she was a good little car and gave no problems. The supercharger gives a nice drive.. I suppose yours might be semi tip auto which I suppose can be more fun than the pre facelift auto shifter
I've read in the Mercedes Enthusiast Mag, that the semi tip auto gives the 230 some extra wow factor. My 230 was not semi tip and the performance I thought was pretty amazing to be fair. Hope your car will be a great motor... sounds like you are already enjoying it. Hope you enjoy the forum site. Regards Kevin
Congratulations! Not for getting the 230, that is reward in itself.
Your greatest success is discovering that open top driving is not just summer.
Winter driving is even more fun.
Just one more step to take, if you haven't already.
These cars bring such simple joy that soaks deep beneath the skin.
