Hey SLK forum!
I joined this site because I'm in the market (I think) for a used SLK, somewhere between a 2010-2014 model. I'm historically a Toyota 4Runner driver, so I'm doing my research before the big purchase, with a few specific topics in mind:
1) 250 vs 350
2) annual maintenance costs
3) impact of snow/ salt on cars over time.
I spent all my life in the southeastern US and live in New Jersey now - I've always stayed clear of cars from the north because of the salt, corrosion impact.

I'll start searching posts and in the mean time, thanks for the welcome and looking forward to learning some new things!
Kathryn

Follow exactly to update: ‘Usercp’ at the top of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’. Info in your garage does not update your profile.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Hi Kathryn,

Welcome from Wirral, England.

Please update your location and vehicle details
New Jersey
Looking for SLK250/350 2010-14.

When you have narrowed your choice down and are looking to buy make sure to get
a datacard for each car you view (see post 2 for how).

This is a handy check list to refer to when looking at AND picking up your car.
http://www.slkworld.com/general-discussion/68666-new-used-vehicle-pickup-checklist.html

And the recall list:
http://www.slkworld.com/general-discussion/331321-recalls-look-up-vin-vehicle-identification-number-usa-only.html

Your spread across two model types and two engines:
http://www.slkworld.com/general-discussion/212745-what-r170-r171-r172.html
So I suggest you go and test drive a 250 & 350 2010, then a 250 & 350 2014.
That gives you your start and end point.
When you decide that the SLK is for you, you will have a better idea which model suits you best
and what pricing is like.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Kathryn, and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us and posting an intro! :)

First please update your profile with your location (e.g. "New Jersey") and vehicle year and model (e.g. something like "Looking for 2010-14 SLK250/350"), as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.
Follow this to update: ‘User CP’ at the top of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’ (and then click ‘SAVE CHANGES’ button at the bottom of the page). Info in your garage does not update your profile.

Thank you
