Hi... I'm new here and would like to say hello and ask your opinions.
I currently owns 2 New Benzs.
2016 SLK Gray also a
2016 C300 4matic Red
On my Red Benz I received 2 tiny nicks )from the deal's driver) completely to the metal to the top of the hood near the emblem. They are aware and gave me choice to either paint over the nicks ( about the size of 2 separate grains of rice) or repaint the entire hood at their cost. I'm afraid of future rusting to the are if I did nothing. Please give me your thoughts and suggestions.
Thanks!

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Florida!

First please update your location and vehicle (Put Looking!)(year?: 1996-2017, model?: 32, 200, 230, 250, 280, 300,320,350,55) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information if you haven’t. This takes about 30 seconds to do.
Follow exactly to update: ‘Usercp’ at the top of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’. Info in your garage does not update your profile.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable or to ‘edit’, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM/edit. You can always pm a moderator.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
FREE!! Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

Welcome to SLKWorld.com from Northern California
:burnout::Beer:

From my experience I would have the whole hood refinished.

Hi and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us! :)

I think I'd opt for the entire hood respray, at their cost.

First please update your profile with your location and vehicle year and model (year?: 1996-2016, model?: 32, 200, 230, 250, 280, 300, 320, 350, 55), if you haven’t already done so, as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.
Follow this to update: ‘User CP’ at the top of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’ (and then click ‘SAVE CHANGES’ button at the bottom of the page). Info in your garage does not update your profile.

Thanks

Welcome from Wirral, England.

Please help us to help you.
Simply update your vehicle and location details. Several posts above show you how.
Then, when you ask questions in the future you will get more accurate responses.
The site is worldwide and all models of SLK/C are covered.

Regarding the chip.
Whole thing painted for me.
Less likely to show through in the future.
Make sure that you document it with both pictures and paperwork.
Avoid any future problems if you ever sell (for another SLK, of course :D )

Welcome from Canada  (wherever you are ;) ). Full re-spray. I doubt they will get the "height" right and you'll always see a slight imperfection if they only do a spot paint repair.

Welcome to the forum! Let them repaint the entire hood at their cost. Either way, I wouldn't worry about rust as long as it's documented in your service records their work should be warrantied no matter how they fix it.
