I have a 2005 SLK350 that I have owned since 9 December 2005. It has 149,000 miles and still going. Only a few minor problems in the 10 years with the exception of a fairly expensive compressor and control replacement this summer.
I do the routine stuff myself but have never had to change the coolant or tranny fluid. The navigation screen is gone but the radio still plays except you have to use the scan as the other buttons have quit. The AMG front has been replaced once, repaired twice and has the normal scratches and cracks. I whacked a traffic cone a few days ago and now have on order the right mirror turn signal.
It's amazing but I still get a lot of comments on the car, even though it is starting to show its age. It seems the design, which was kinda radical when new, has become "cool".
I appreciate all the good stuff found on the forum. Looking forward to being a member.
