Hi guys,

After many years of BMWs and Audis I traeted myself to an SLK200 - and have never regretted it!
Coming from the frozen north (Scotland) I get relatively few chances to get the roof down (must upgrade to a warm scarf model - or just buy a warm scarf!) but on the days I can - whooee!

Looking forward to chatting, but for now am off to check the forum for a recent problem - a stuck rear quarte light!:crying:

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Valrico, Florida!

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

Welcome. Part of the convertible charm is wrapping up well, turning the heater up and getting the top down on a cold day.

Welcome from the Sacramento Valley SLK Enthusiasts!

I used to drive with the top down well almost every day to & from work, I used the seat heater and the heater on winter days! When it rained the top also was down, as long as you are moving pretty fast you didn't get wet unless you got caught at a traffic light.darn it.

Hey guys, - what a welcome.
I haven't replied earlier 'cos I'm having trouble with the old SLK - had to replace the rear passenger window assembly and now neither is working!
Off to research in the forum, or continue scratching head!

So an update!
Having replaced the rear passenger window and reassembled, I find that it's not working. Obviosly I've done something wrong, so, strip it all out again, double check everything , reassemble and...............still not working. Even worse, putting the roof down takes forever as it will only move the windows 3 inches at a time, then operate normally for the last bit. Much scratching of head until I noticed that NEITHER rear window was working. Checked - blown fuse! I had allowed the open connections to the replacement window mechanism to touch whilst checking the operation before reassembly. Replaced fuse and voila!!
DUH!!!
Must go and lie down now with a cold compress!!
