The site is indeed a wealth of information that has already saved me a bunch of heartache over the Xenon headlight facts. I indeed need less stress, that could have saved my life! lol

I bought the 320 for my wife, her 40th birthday. This was shortly after my father passed on. It helped with my sorrow some. She calls it her "Baby". It has brought many pleasurable rides, memories. Not really any issues to report either. Worst problem is it's such a low stance many drivers look over the car and don't see it. The CD player in the trunk was toast long ago, peeling console, usual stuff. But overall great little car. Good handling, mileage, and will indeed hit the 144 mph limiter, although it reads a bit higher on the gauge.

I hope to fix the deer damage and keep her for more miles! I already have the Xenon used replacement lamp on the way!

I’m still just sick. We have our pet 2001 SLK 320 with only 48K. But A death wish deer, that didn’t get killed, impacted at maybe 20 mph. You can see the cap is gouged, grille broken, and headlight (Xenon!) toast. Plus the hood is kinked, pushed slightly over to one side but hinges can be tweaked. Thank the LORD the fender is fine! Hard to believe. The cap is not expensive nor the grille. I can buy and refit gaps. The hood will require a pro as will paintwork. This forum really helped the assessment of the headlight debacle. Cripes! List is $1300 for ONE! Best option new was around $700 discounted. Standard lights can be retrofitted to Zenon but manufacturers say the kits are not for Zenon factory cars (?). God is good, I found a used complete assembly on Ebay for less than $200. I think that will get me going. I’ll lurk a bunch and may have some questions over time. We only drive the car lightly for fun and I canceled the full coverage insurance to save some money with the crappy economy these days. Seemed like the right thing, till the deer. So repairs will be strictly out of pocket, me doing as much as possible, but pros to finish. But onward ho!
