Recently bought a 2012 SLK 350. Love the car and the performance. First MB I've owned after owning 30+ cars over the years. Unfortunately didn't realize the hard top was warped. So that appears to be the first issue I'm going to have to deal with. Always looked to vehicle specific forums first during ownership for advice and good information.

Thanks.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:

If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.

If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.

Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.

Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.

New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Give MBUSA a shout.
I don't know what your sale of goods act equivalent is over there,
but, based on the premise that it is reasonable to expect a car roof to last more than 7 years,
I'd hope they would look on your issue favourably.

Welcome from the Sacramento Valley SLK Enthusiasts!

There is a NC/SC SLK group that meets frequently in your area, look at the events section.

Post your vin # and ask a moderator to run it for you. Is the top stuck or warped?

Top is most certainly warped. Good and flush at both corners and bowed up quite a bit in the middle. The car is unbearable to drive at highway speeds due to wind noise with the top up and windows up unless you put duct tape across the entire front seam. I had my nephew follow behind me in the SLK down the interstate, looking in the rear view mirror I could literally see the top being pulled up in the middle from the wind getting under it. I started a thread about the top. I got such a good deal on the car I am willing to invest in fixing it, but it seems the Mars Red fixed tint panels are discontinued. So I don't know what will happen.
obviously top down the car is a joy! :)
