Hi All,

I have been a happy owner of a 2010 SLK 200 1.8 Compressor for a couple of years now and have loved every minute of it. Until recently that is.....

I wasn't aware of the issue of the battery compartment drain hole blocking or the other drain hidden by the bonnet blocking. Until I washed the car over Christmas and now hey presto, the fan blower motor is no longer working.

I have tried to strip it down and investigate the issue but I think the motor is now ruined. I can get it to spin if I assist it on starting and it will run for a few minutes before it just stops again. I am currently looking to find a new fan blower unit assembly for an R171 complete with the resistor pack. The pack looks like it might be OK but there is some corrosion in one corner of the module.

If anyone has any pointers on places to source a new/recon fan blower module your comments would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to avoid going to the dealer with this as I know it will be an expensive job.

Thanks
