Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Hi Sean,
Welcome to the Forum! Like you, I am a new member, and I also have a SLK280. Also, I am not far away, near Stroud.
Back in the day when I had a P***che I used the owners’ forums a lot, great for finding parts and how-to-fix solutions.
I have only had my r171 for a few days, but I am in love! Just delightful, and so refined.
Have fun!

Hi John,
I have had around 40 cars in my life time but have to say I love this the most. I went shopping for a Porsche Cayman and found a lovely gen 1 with full history and a lady owner. The car was a present from her husband you collected 911's. As nice as it was the Cayman just didn't go or sound as nice as I expected and my wife found it uncomfortable. So second choice was the SLK. I prefer the look of the R171 to the R172 so took a couple of months to track down a good example and ended up taking mine out for a test drive. Instantly fell in love and realised that the gods had done me a favour and the SLK should of always been first choice. I got mine in August 2018 and we had a great summer with lots of roof in the boot driving.
