Just wanted to say hello to everyone out there. I am a new owner of a 2007 slk350 with a manual. Love the car so far but I do have one problem with the car since I bought it last weekend. I cannot fill the car with more than 4 gallons of gas before the fuel filler overflows- has anyone experience this problem? I plan to take the car into the dealer next week but I thought I would ask on the forum if anyone has experience this problem and is there a logical fix for this problem that I have overlooked.

Thanks for any suggestions.

use more than 4 gallons before trying to fill it up! :biglaugh:

Seriously though, I dont know about your problem, but there are plenty of helpful people here, and I'm sure they might be able to get you some sort of answer.

I don't know about Pennsylvania, but here in Oklahoma I am encountering an increasing number of pumps with defective shut-offs, so that they "click" and shut off for no reason. An employee as such a station confessed that they just aren't maintaining their pumps properly to save money. I've identified some local stations with pumps that shut off properly, and try to patronize them. I don't know why gasoline retailers need to save money after that $4 per gallon stuff a few months ago, but apparently some think they do!

So, poorly maintained pumps could be part of the problem.
