Hi.
I have a 2000 R170 320.
Unfortunately, it's not the AMG version....
Just spent the afternoon upside down in the passenger footwell, removing the cover and changing the pollen filter.
The heater blower wasn't working, but opened up the unit, cleaned it. Took out the motor, cleaned up all the leaves, dust and various nastiness. Now I have heat and AC.
Also sprayed silicon grease on the various catches, hinges on the roof mechanism. It was sticking and needed a bit of a punch to open. Not any longer...

I assume you mean because it is not a SLK 32.
