I'm going to see an R171 55 tomorrow that I've had my eye on.
It was for sale privately, but as usual I prevaricated and a dealer snapped it up ! It's now on for 3 grand more...:frown:

It has a few changes from standard (carbon fibre interior bits) and carbon diffuser. I was wondering, who do you use in terms of insurance for modified cars ?

I hope the car lives up to the excitement in my mind..I've printed off the buying guide to take with me so at least I'm not going in blind !

If I buy the car I'll definitely be posting more in here going forward.

Depends what country You reside in?
But just a case of shopping around the various Insurance company's....
Here in the UK I was using Adrian Flux for My old R171, which where happy to insure modified cars, but they where very expensive for nearly new cars, so now with Aviva...

Well - no doubt like everyone else, soon as I heard the engine all pretense of not wanting the car went out of the window !

I got a deal I was very happy with. I printed off the guide from here and went through all the points, the car passed with flying colours.
No damp or leaks, brand new disks and pads on the front along with 2 x new front tyres. It's only ever been serviced at the Main Dealer. It's low mileage as it has lived in London all it's life. With the new ULEZ coming in I guess the decided the car had to go !

Here's some poor pictures of it, I'm waiting on new ones to come through from the dealer.
I'm picking it up on June 1 which happens to coincide with my Birthday - very happy birthday to me !! :D

Very similar to mine, Obsidian black, SS rollbars, anthracite wheels.... You clearly have very good taste.
I like to think so... ;)

I have to say I'm ridiculously excited !

I've got better pictures now - hope these come out ? I'm going to have to get rid of the Black Series badge, don't like mis-badged cars

https://boards.wetransfer.com/board/sw9mjzs0r0fsb5dnr20190523150502/latest?token=4b77e2e1-741a-472e-9392-5885d2b19544&fbclid=IwAR0lNVpwLzFBkYTfZkLR4T-Eblp5_bo4jDikZOO6oEL0968926dFYyC2uDI

Am I right in thinking it's due a transmission flush around 40K miles ?

Plans are to fix the upper LCD (it's got the pink shrimp syndrome)
and fit a Dynavin N7.

(Maybe an X-Pipe) lol
