Hello everyone. This is my first post. I've had my SLK for a year and I am ready for new tires and wheels. After reading much of the forum, I have decided on changing from my 17" AMG wheels to 18" 8.5f and 9.5r with the Michln. PS 2 235/40f and 255/35r. I know many of you went with 265 in the rear-any pos or cons for me regarding handling changes you noticed going to 265 rear? I am also going to do some cosmetic and performance mods. Anyone know where I can order a stubby antenea? Thanks for your help.

Hi and Welcome to the forum !

About the short antenna, it's just the SL one that you can order at your dealer.

Hello,

in Germany it´s not allowed to drive 235 + 255. Either 225 + 255 or 235 and 265ers.

Thanks, guys. When I use a tire calculator, it looks like with the 235/40f and 265/35r the diameters are almost exactly the same, but if you go with the 255/40r then the rear diameter is larger. Do you think this might be the problem? Those of you have gone with this tire size and lowered the car with new springs, do you have any trouble with tire rub or you your front hitting on dips?

The total roll size must work. Mine are 225/35x19 and 255/30x19. A 40 high is not allowed too.
