Hello Everyone!

Just moved up to the great state of S. Carolina from the S. Florida area, and after finding out that Carolina is the US home of BMW, did my research and purchased a SLK instead!

It's a Cubanite Silver (Pewter) 2003 SLK320 Base model. It's nothing fancy like an AMG, but it's a good start.

It has chrome Spyder projectors, but I've already got new Spyders in black that we're installing this weekend. The grille is aftermarket, and is already removed for a paint job and some polishing. I've got the spray tint for the side markers/door signals/tail lights to follow up after that, and re-gluing the door panels will follow that project. As of tonight, I've installed a new mech-less head unit for some nicer sound and bluetooth.

Provided all that goes smoothly over the next few days, I'll be plasti-dipping the wheels before fall sets in, and some time over the winter will install the shorty antenna and SmartTop. Somewhere before that, I hope to install the wind deflector and get the windows tinted a little (and maybe add nicer fogs and replace the trunk divider).

Thanks for having me, looking forward to learning more about my new-to-me R170 :)

Welcome to the elite SLKWorld forum!

Just a few suggestions to make your time here a fun and informative experience...

The "Search" feature at the top right of the page is for searching the forum. Many questions have already been asked and answered by our knowledgeable members.

It's easy to obtain the posts by clicking on the New Members Introduce Yourself Here section and just welcome the new members (like we welcomed you).

To post a picture, either start a new thread or reply to one, type what you want to say and click on the 'paper clip' just above, this will open a window to your left, click on 'browse', go to your pictures, and double click on the one you want to post, click on 'upload' and then 'submit' your post.

If you like a comment or want to thank another member for their post, there's a 'like' button to the right and just below is the 'thanks' button.

As a new member you can use the New Posts link at the top of the info bar. It's a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last.

When you are ready to leave the forum just click on "Quick Links" and click 'mark forums read', this will clear your screen for when you log on again.

Post your vin in the Vehicle Data Card Request section to get a data card (options on your car) free.

As a member you have the privilege to vote and/or enter our Ride of the Month competition, we welcome new SLKs to compete and new members to vote.

Where in SC are you?

Welcome from Little River, SC.

We have a NC/SC SLK Owners Group that get together around every 3 months for a Saturday of enjoying our SLK's as a group. No fees or dues just what you have for lunch. Our get together is a way to pick up some good tips on your SLK.

If you or anyone else interested in joining us just email Len for more info.
[email protected]

On this forum under the heading of US South East Regions look for posts on NC/SC Group meets for pictures of past meets. On Facebook under NC/SC SLK Group

Good way to meet others and learn about SLK's by talking to other owners.

Come out and join us.

As Chuck says above in Post #7 - welcome!!!

We are in fact having an event today, our annual cookout in North Myrtle Beach. Don't see a location listed for you, but if you are close enough and contact me by about noon, I can give you directions and you can join us. if that doesn't work, shoot me an e-mail anyway if you want to get on our mailing list for future events.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes!!!

I've updated my profile a bit to show my actual location in SC. We're in a smaller town just on the outskirts of Greenville.

Chuck and Len, thank you both for the invite! We'll actually be on the coast this coming weekend, visiting some family vacationing on Hilton Head. It's been almost 4 full weeks since I've been in the ocean, having a little withdrawl :)

I'll be looking into the discussions in the regional group thread as well for info about upcoming events.

And, I'll do my best to get some pics up once I put the grille back on the weekend after its paint job :)
