hey guys here's a pic of my car, sorry for the poor quality used my camera phone to take it, my friend still has my digital camera, promise to take better pics once i get it back.

Some mods:
20x8.5; 20x10 black custom made Zinik wheels with polished alloy;
chrome aerowings;
euro clear side markers;
R170 stubby antennae;
15% tint;
speaking of tint, the tint guy is having trouble tinting my quarter windows coz it wont come up unless i put the top up, how do u get it up with the top down?

Future mods:
VCD doors;
Rear lip spoilers;
Smoked tailights and third brake light;
Vario Roof

Anyways any input from you guys would be appreciated! thanks!

Looks good, I would complete the steath look by painting your MB star black, it looks high, lower it, the quarter windows only stay up with the top up, sucks I know but that's the way it is. I guess 20"s the trend in FL, your are the 3rd or 4th FL member to have 20's, IMHO, 19"s looks just right, I was afraid of the ride quality with 19"s, I was pleasantly surprised that it has been comfortable, how's the ride on 20"s?

:tu:Looks good. Yea, most SLK owners frown :( putting 20" wheels on the SLK. From the angle of your pic, they don't look that large. Could be the black wheels. Would like to see a side shot. Continue to mod your SLK and enjoy.

im not a fan of 20's on an slk im afarid, i think they are too large, i prefer 19's. but as said if it's the trend in your area then go for it.
needs lowered a touch, id drop it on springs. the black wheels on black bodywork does look good however!!

Actually this is the only 20" Wheel I am liking for the SLK. Its a nice attemt you have done to improve the cosmetics. But later on please lower it and add a Bodykit and exhausts.

yeah, i know it needs lowering, im thinking about Brabus lowering springs, i put 20's on it coz with a black wheel the 19s IMHO would look a little smaller, if i had ynots color i would go with 19 alloys, but i kinda wanted to be a little different, honestly, when i first saw the R171 i really wanted a silver soooooo baaaadddddd!!! but then eventually black grew on me hehehehe but i still love silver, i was thinking about getting carlsson body kit on it and exhaust, im still trying to find a dealer for those parts here in my area for a good price, lost all my money on purchasing the car hehehehe jk but thanks for all your input guys! i really feel privileged to be informed by guys like you about what you think! :usa:

By the way Ynot, the ride on the 20's didnt make a lot of difference from the stock wheels, its been really good... its funny that you said that SLK owners in FL prefer 20s coz, im the only guy in my town that has a modded SLK, im only 27 y/o, and MOST of the other SLK owners are rich retirees here and dont even care much about modding their SLK's... i have seen a silver modded SLK in cape coral, FL(bout 15 mins. away from my area)which had a smoked out tailights but i think he had 19s on his car, i kinda want to see more modded SLKs here so we can probably start a club?! but i also enjoy the fact that im unique hehehehe:biglaugh:

I am with the others on this normally 19s are the max i can understand putting on the SLK but i think with the black and from the angle of the pic i am struggling to even tell the difference from 19 i think if its lowered slightly it would look better a much more complete package.

With the problem your having with the 1/4 windows they can't be raised without the roof unless the dealer uses the SDS to lift them temporarily.

Pretty sick car, but dont put the 20's on it. It's also going to make the ride a lot less smooth. You're going to feel every little bump in the road. Looks real good though :)

Well the only thing i can think of would be to go to the dealer get them to lower the roof then raise the 1/4 windows and remove the fuses that power the motors, they are easy accessible for you to re-insert them when the windows have been sorted and you should be able to use the control button for the roof to lower them down again.

You can't operate the roof when the windows are up because the frame with bash into them so the roof needs to stay down all the time until the motors are powered back up, how come the tint guy can't sort them with the roof up?

He said that since he couldnt get the 1/4 up with the top down theres gonna be about 1/2 inch of the top part of the window without tint... so i dunno why he couldnt do it... hes a retard thats why...

you know thats what i thought at first but actually didnt change a lot, of course the bumps are more noticeable but not as much as it was when i had the factory wheels on it... but thanks for the comment:)

Performance will lag...

with bigger tires since the mass is farther from the axle. I can't do the numbers anymore but the power needed to spin big diameter wheels and tires is significant and noticeable.

:confused:Need a new tint guy. No one here with tint has mentioned they had problems getting their SLK windows tinted. I would assume the rear window would be the challenge. Florida has tons of experienced tint people. You'll find someone that can do it right.

my tinter did it with the top up. he's not a small guy, but he bent and twisted and did a great job.

i agree with those that think the 20's are too tall, makes the tires look thinner. perhaps more photos from different angles may show a better truer perspective.
