You can operate the roof by remote if you have the premium package. The problem is it's IR and has a range of about 5 feet and you point the remote at the door handle. Go stand 20-30 feet away and try to operate it. If it works, then you DO have a Smart Top installed. Also, the smart top lets you push the button 3 times to open/close. If you have to hold the button down the entire time, then that's another sign that you don't have the smart top.I actually THINK that I have SmartTop installed (yes I do if that means that I can use my key remote to open/close the roof).
The website is mods4cars dot com.I actually THINK that I have SmartTop installed (yes I do if that means that I can use my key remote to open/close the roof).
I am not familiar with mos4cars website - is there a URL or link for that?
I tried to PM you about your car, but I don't have 15 posts yet, so I'll state it here. That car that you have in the pic is freakin' awesome. I assume it's yours. That's one of the most beautiful cars that I ever seen. I know it looks similar to my slk350, but I can tell that is one awesome ride.
I know smart top is loved around here, but I wouldn't say it's a must have for "everyone." I know it's a must have for some.
I will probably do it eventually, but with the weather I'm always so happy when I can finally put the top down that I don't mind holding the remote button, or the inside button a few seconds.
