It means we're special, like the U950 Caspian/Benitoite blue. :)

Very excited to be in the "special" group too! LOL!
My SLK is 744U-Brilliant Silver Metallic
Could the U represent the metallic?

Also does anyone know what SA Code 524-Paintwork Preservation means?

Yes...total novice in many things...good indication that life will provide me with many lessons which according to research will help me to avoid Alzheimer's!

In the 2012, at least in the Canadian MB English brochure, the name for the 755 color was listed as Tenorite Grey. On the Bilingual Mercedes-Benz Canada window sticker it was called "755-Steel Grey Metallic / 755-Gris Tenorite Metallise". So the 755 is correct, just the name of the color seems to vary a wee-bit.

"U" refers to the Upper Body of the car so same as one color.

Just received my Datacard (thanks muchly again) which states 586 paint code. There is a 585 and 587 listed but no 586 - Odd?

I thought that it was Magma Red for some reason but don't know why (mainly cos memory cells dead).

Also the Equipment states 027A CLOTH SCARLAT. The seats were cloth but I changed these for Red/Black leather a few days ago.
Does 027A also reflect the colour code for the painted parts of the interior? I need to buy the correct touch up.

Thanks in anticipation from cloudy UK (Roof UP!)

Couple of basic questions here:
1) Where do I find the 'paint code' on my car?
2) My 2001 SLK is "yellow" (was it called "Sunfire Yellow"?) ....what year did MB discontinue that color on the SLK?
Thanks, guys!

OK, I'll create a new thread. When I do that on other sites, I'm always admonished to do a 'search' first for previous threads.

BTW - door jam shows weights & tire pressures & nothing about paint. There *is* a stand alone "685" there. If that's the paint code, it's not on the extensive list that started this thread.

That's usually if the "old" thread doesn't solve your problem then we ask you to create a new one without posting in the old one.

You could always include a reference to the old thread (include a link to it) in your new post/question to show that at least you tried  :tu:
