Thank you! The link for my model and year works and I was able to dl the brochure.
Very kind of you to create a page for all of these.
Made a photo mix of my girl - she is feeling all "Peter Max" this week.
Am a little confused about what we are allowed to post and not. I understand that most documents are copyrighted by MB but there is an exclusion to the DMCA (Digital Millennium C opyright Act - US) for non-commercial and educational purposes.
OTOH the MB notice seems a bit draconian: "Reproduction by any means or by any information storage and retrieval system or translation in whole or part is not permitted without written authorization from Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC or its successors.". Does SLKWorld have permission to post excerpts for its members ?
I generally purchase a copy of a service manual, parts manual, and owner's manual for my cars but since things usually happen in areas of no service, cloud or web based elements are not of much use.
That said there is a tremendous amount of material available on the web, particularly on forum sites and archives, that can satisfy my need (any more I prefer .pdfs though am forced to accept some VMWare packages since the paper service manuals here are best mentioned in shelf-feet.
But perhaps being a Canadian site, the rules are different here, and like the WIS are almost incomprehensible to me.
Do we have an official word from MB on permission to reproduce ? I used to be on one GM focused site that had permission to post anything that members had scanned which included whole service manuals and parts books.
Nothing is being reproduced.
I'm still here and not served after 12 years and counting
From forum rules:
6. C opyright-protected material. Members agree not to post any material that is protected by c opyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right. This includes but is not limited to magazine, book and newspaper scans, television broadcasts and copyrighted images and photos. You may post a small snippet of an article, but you may not post the full text. Please provide a link (if possible) to the material.
Jeff, thanks for creating this page and for the ongoing maintenance! Considering we only acquired a 2008 R171 for my wife in 2020, I never dreamed I'd get a look at the sales brochures. Thanks to this treasure trove, I can now examine the USA brochure (where our "smile generator" was purchased) and the Canadian brochure (we live in the Great White North) to examine the differences! Kudos!

Hi Jeff. I realise this is an old thread but just stumbled across it. I've got brochures for other cars I have had so delighted to be able to add this. Thank you
Nigel
