The facelifted CLA Shooting Brake – which has to stand as the most practical member of the Mercedes compact class – has been spied doing some trailer work as it prepares for the subtle refresh.
This facelift seems to come quite early during the model’s life cycle and as such the near-production prototype spied here sitting on a trailer wears very little camouflage – there are very subtle design changes that will most likely become relevant only to the diehard fans of the company. We’re looking at mostly relevant technical updates – the CLA Shooting Brake is also going to gain the company’s full LED headlight technology that will sit in place of the regular bi-xenon system. The refreshed A Class hatchback has also received the treatment and the same will happen to the CLA four door coupe – or sedan, things are getting blurry across so many niches.
We also noticed the CLA Shooting Brake will also sport some modifications to the front and rear bumpers as well as the design of the LED taillights – and we’re betting all these modifications will actually come directly and untouched from the five-door hatchback. The same will happen to the cabin where at hand will be the upgraded eight-inch display and infotainment system coming from the A Class and which has now added Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Also worth mentioning will be the galvanized switches and the refreshed instrument cluster with a tubular design. We’re expecting both the regular CLA and the Shooting Brake version to come to Geneva in March and then reach dealerships starting June.
