I'll be honest and say from the start the SLS AMG does more things to my endorphins than the new AMG GT S in terms of design, but this is just yours faithfully being subjective.

Concerning power output, it's good to see tuners don't settle for what standard configurations have to offer, even if the model involved is an AMG GT S packing 510 HP from a 4.0-liter V8.

So, sleeves went up, and engineers got down to business. The result is a new tuning program for the AMG GT and the AMG GT S hotshots. We're talking about a Stage 1 pack that takes the overall power output to 590 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, compared to the 510 HP delivered by the AMG GT S and the 462 HP available in the base AMG GT version.

Compared to some crazy tuning examples carried out on Mercs, it's not much, but it's not negligible quantity either.

Mcchip-dkr will charge customers interested in their pack €1,899 (roughly $2,100 at current exchange rates), but you should know the AMG GT S will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds now, before hitting a top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph).

But if your garage doesn't shelter a Merc AMG GT or GT S, mcchip-dkr offer their services for the Mercedes-AMG C63 and his more powerful C63 S sibling. Just as for the AMG GT coupé, the performance sedan boasts 590 HP and an extra 30 Nm of torque for a total value of 780 Nm (575 lb-ft). Oh, there's a photo gallery waiting for you below, so make sure you don't miss it.
