So after dropping out of the Cambria event, I ended up going to the MB March Madness event hosted by mbjunkies.com instead. They had over 120 cars sign up for this. It was the biggest MB event in the Southern California area in quite a while.

My car after I finished primping early in the morning before the big meet!

The San Diego waypoint where I met Charlie and the other folks from mbjunkies.com.

The San Diego waypoint.

Oh look, an SLS. Always nice to see. I found out the hard way it has a proximity alarm where if you stick your head under the door, a siren goes off. Annoying...

This guy doesn't appreciate aftermarket and replica wheels. (EDIT: Censored!!)

Row of classic SLs.

SLKWorld representin'!!

The evosports crowd arrives. The second black CLK did a burn-out which ended up spraying a bunch of rubber on the silver car behind him. From what I could tell that wasn't appreciated.

Matte MBs by DPE Performance.

An entire nest of Black Series CLKs.

The interior of one of the evosport CLKs. Full roll-cage in the back.

This is what happens when someone does a burn-out directly in front of you.

SLS pictures.

This guy was clearly confused and at the wrong meet.

Some of the cars at the meet. There were two double rows of cars constantly filled. Every time a car left, someone else would take its place. Beyond the area that Hooters had blocked off for the event, there were more Mercedes parked everywhere that couldn't get parking anymore within the main cordoned-off area.

Lorinser SL.

More ruff looking MBs.

Crooks and Castles

The evosport corner/

Nice diffuser on this CLK BS.

The only other SLK at the meet! Not sure if this belongs to a member.

Some overview shots.

Brandon's car slammed to the ground.

Poser cars even at a meet??!! For shame!

One of the car with "Versus" decals, as in BMW vs MBZ.

Nice C63.

Stance Nation. Form over function!

A tank of NOS in the back of a CLK BS.

Some more CLK BS pix.

Nice SL.

Brandon's hydraulic MB full tilt.

One of the matte DPE MBs.

The evosport CLK with custom hood. A.k.a. the perp (of the burn-out).

Import models. Kind of a chilly day for this line of work.

All in all a great day for a Mercedes meet. Over a 100 cars for sure. This made me (slightly) less sad that I missed the Cambria 3-day.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures!!

Thanks for the pics Durk. I was going to head down there but just wasn't enough time. I do have to agree with Alroumi.. some people just have 'different' ideas of what looks good.

Wow... I have to say I also disagree with what some people did to their vehicles but who am I to judge... the important thing is that they enjoy them.
Besides, if everyone had the same mods it wouldn't be nearly as fun. I like being surprised. :)
Sad I couldn't make it but then again, I had an awesome weekend! :)
I'd love to be present on the next one, it'd be awesome to have an SLKWorld corner with a few SLKs!

Some of the cars look very tacky.
Agree, like the stance cars, stance is just a newer word for lowrider. Nothing different.

It looks like a great meet except for the inconsiderate CLK that did the burn out. I would seriously considered punching him in the face if I were the owner of the car behind it. He probably spent hours washing, waxing, buffing the car for this meet, only to get it tire blasted. The owner of the CLK could had easily asked him to move before doing something like this. There is nothing cool about doing a burn out in a parking lot full of nice cars.

Thanks for sharing those pics. They look great, your SLK definitely stands out, it's nice and shiny.

Yeah, some cars are more subtle than others. Everyone loves their rides though! People take great pride and love talking about all the stuff they did.

Here's another picture of my car taken at the event by a better photographer than me :D.

+1 on that. Missed you this weekend Durk, but looks like you had some fun anyway.
Thanks guys. Yeah Steve, sorry I wasn't there, hopefully we'll do it again later in the year when there aren't quite so many washed out sections on the SR-1.

Not sure if the car was the best looking of the show, but it sure got quite a bit of attention. Interestingly enough, mostly from women, just to reinforce the cliche about SLKs.

There was one woman who was hovering all over the car for 15 minutes taking pictures from every angle. I think there was a purchase in her future. Maybe we'll see her on the forum some day.

My red interior was a hit with everyone that saw the car.

1. Pablo has plans for a Santa Barbara-Ojai run. This was to be the first run before lunch but got detoured to highway 101 because of snow levels as low as 3000 ft.

2. We can repeat the same venue with NorCal-Socal meet once PCH is fixed just south of Big Sur.
