Hi guys!
I was wondering about the offset you guys are running on your setup.

I found some nice wheels with 19x8.5 and ET 25. Do you guys think it will poke out to much? According to a calculation program, it says that it will poke out about 18mm.

Anyone else running low ET on their setup?

The wheels I’m looking at are: Etabeta Piuma silver.

I guess the car in the picture is lowered?

I plan to keep the stock suspension with 19 inch. My biggest concern is that it will poke out to much from the wheel arches.

I kinda wish I knew what the offset on my rims are. Gonna have to request some measurements from my tyre guys next time I visit.

The rears on my SLK280 are 255/30/R19. They were brought down from 265, which were literally too wide as they rubbed on the chassis. I grumbled at the dealer to get that fixed, as it should have been picked up in the roadworthy inspection as a fail.

Thanks alot for the inputs!

I think I may be okay with the wheels, since Slk r171 stock 17 inch is ET 30 Back, and ET36 Front.

Rear wheels will be no problems.

Im unsure about the front now, since stock wheel 17x7.5

I had a 350 with AMG rims:



Front: 7,5J x 18 ET37 (with 225/40 tire)
Rear : 8,5J x 18 ET30 (with 245/35 tire)


this to be compared with my 55 AMG:s


Front 8,5J x 19 ET30 (with 235/35 tire)
Rear 9,5J x 19 ET31 (with 265/30 tire)


But the AMG:s are probably slightly different to a normal SLK.


My 55 AMG is running with 41 mm ET rears with no problems today. Looks great, but not legal. MOT was OK.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know the reason for your setup to be illegal? Swedish car inspector can sometimes be a pain in the ***.

So what do you think about my setup that I’m about to invest in.

19x8.5 ET:25 all around.

Notes.
Key is to keep front and rear the same diameter and do not exceed 26" (rear tire swings forward as body is raised)
I have 225s on the front that almost rub at full lock with 37mm offset, 25mm will be worse.
225s may be difficult to mount on 8.5s
Anything under a 40 profile in a car designed for 50-55s will result in a rough ride.
Wheels for a R170/Crossfire will not clear the front calipers on a R171.

That isn't going to work on the front. I am running 18x8.5 with 32 offset and I am rubbing with 235 PSS. With being out another 7mm no way that works. On 225's maybe with rolled fenders. I am doing mine shortly.

My 19s have offsets of +45 (f) and +54 (r); but I am using H&R spacers (+8mm front, and +15mm rear) to get them more lined up with fenders. Personally I hate the pushed-in look of the tires away from the fenders. Just make the car "unbalanced" in my eyes...

^^^ I know that, was just stating the offset for the rims not including the spacer.
