I had a bad (dirty) mass airflow sensor when I bought my 230. I replaced it with a new OEM part for $300. Now it's 8 months or so later and my check engine light just came back on. I know it's not necessarily the same problem again, but in case it is, can I get just as good performance out of one of the $50 models you find online? Can I just clean the current one and reset the fault again? Should I check the oil separator to fix the problem more permanently?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Yes you can clean your maf, just be sure to use maf cleaner.
& yes you should check your oil separator.

I have yet to hear of someone getting a cheap maf & it works for mor than a few weeks.

You can also fit an oil catch tank which will minimise the amount of oil in the air inlet tract. Have a search for a thread on how to install.
