I could not face the traffic this Holiday Weekend - So what to do ??
I've just put together a Small Web Site (2 Pages)with links on them to SLK R170,R171 & R172 Parts, Assemblies, Technical Data and the Locations of Parts.

Also there is a Large listing of ODBII Fault Codes (Circa 3000) and a Search Engine for ODBII Fault codes.

Whilst this is mostly relevant to the R170 & R171 there is some information on the R172.

As I have found having access to Parts Information and Numbers together with Drawings of how the parts fit together is one of the most important aspects of doing any work on my car. If you view my site you should be able to

Due to the complexity I would Suggest that you print this

I have uploaded a MAJOR revision to the Parts Listing for All SLK's (R170) (R171) (R172) :grin:
To access this sucessfully you need your Chassis No.
You can find this on the Registration Document, it will start with "WDB"

THEN GO TO - Your Car Selection

Select the model variant of your Car.
(NOTE)
FIRST Column is the First Six Digits of your Chassis Number
SECOND Column is the Specific SLK Model

The First 6 Digits of your Chassis No need to match your R No (R170/R171/R172)

This will take you to the group Index (Change Language if required using Flags)

Enter your Chassis No in full at the top and click on the arrow at the right. This will get the full DATA SHEET specification for your Car.

To move to the Groups Section click on your six digit vehicle no on the fifth line
(I suggest you bookmark this page so that you can come back to Parts Look-up easily)
Carry on to get info on any parts you are looking for by selecting a group.

This will get you an exploded diagram of how assemblies go together, SCROLL DOWN for individual part details.
