Like driving over rumble strips

1521 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Hal Adams
I have a 2013 250 CDI SLK with 12k miles on the clock which I bought recently and have an intermittent problem. When accelerating, not aggressively, just normal it sounds like the car is going over rumble strips, from the drivers side I think, and more so when turning left. It is of course under warranty but its sods law that if I take it in it will be fine. Can anyone give me a clue as to what it could be. many thanks

calipers is my guess or look at the inside tire rim, it might have let the steel bands through

Stability control problem?

Try cleaning the wheels then going for a drive to trigger the issue. Brake as little as possible. Is there more brake dust on the driver's side wheel?

Does it happen if you switch stability control off?
Intermittent 'rumble strip sound' is usually the start of wheel bearing wear.
