I have looked at SLC and SLK cars, and finally bought a late 2015 SLK. On viewing the car, I saw that it has the SLC gear control ! I will be the 2nd owner since Sept 2015. This is also about the third SLK I've viewed with really rusty brake calipers. Most un-Mercedes-like !!

Dealer ads are known to be in error at times. As mentioned, post the VIN HERE and it can be confirmed for you.

Well, I can now tell you all that I have the 9-speed gearbox. As I drove home today from picking up the car from the dealer, the gear display varied up to D9 as I drove along the M6. I believe it was this gearbox that got the CO2 gms/km far enough down to get to the £30 level which I paid today. The money I've saved compared to my MG TF at £265, is going towards the higher insurance premium. A lovely car, but it does have a few peculiarities !

VIN is - WDD1724042F119879

The more I drive this car the more I like it, but I do wonder what the MB purchasing team were smoking when they let the contract for supply of brake calipers ! From what I can see there is no protective coating at all on both caliper and mounting bracket. The rear calipers have no rust, just the bracket, which makes me think they are maybe made of aluminium. The rest of the car is so well made and solid this rust problem seems very strange, especially as with the very open spoke wheels the brakes are highly visible. Funnily enough the discs are well protected !
