Kleemanns Headers for R171 SLK55

I have been chewing over the idea of getting Kleemann Headers installed along with a ECU remap for about 3 years now, still am

Much has been discussed on the forum about whether it's worth it or not. I have read it all.

My reason for the post is that Kleemann USA are selling them including down pipes for $650 (via Ebay). Which seems good value. Postage to UK for me has been quoted at $225. So with the dreaded taxes I make that about £780.

SKG have quoted me £1,195.

Haven't got a current quote from MSL, but a while back they were offering them for £1,000 as part of a group buy.

I thought I would share the info in case anybody else is more decisive than me

How many miles since the blower was fitted? How many miles do Kleeman think it will cover without problems? Do they have a 'view' on the M113?

If any issues, Kleemann works with one to resolve anything. Plus c2design that installed it has vast experience with it

What do you mean 'view'?

if you're in no rush to get this you may wish to contact Ron Fenton who brings in a monthly container from the US, well regarded in the Mustang comunit...

STS Imports Ltd

We are a recognised and respected name in the American car community and specialise in bringing customers parts and cars from the USA to the UK.

For those parts that are too expensive to fly over or the seller will not ship direct to the UK, you just send them to our warehouse situated in North Miami Beach where they are safely stored until we pack the next container. We currently pack a container approximately every eight weeks.

We don’t just ship car parts, we ship motorbikes and anything from drum kits to pinball machines and lots in between.

STS can arrange for your car, truck or motor cycle to be exported from numerous locations in the USA, shipped imported, as well as carry out UK lighting conversions and IVA testing. All import paperwork is handled by us. We can also get your new import through an MOT and registered for you.

MSL quoted me the same price as SKG Dave, and they both quote a £450 fitting charge.

Ron has given me a quote of £90 Miami to London and £25 to me at Weston Super Mare. Sounds reasonable, but Kleemanns quote all the way from Colorado to me is about £160. So I'm guessing with postage costs from Colorado to Miami it wouldn't save much. Thanks anyway.

Still saves about £400 buying them direct from Kleemann USA compared SKG and MSL (thanks Davie). Still thinking about it.

One thought is whether to buy them in case they stop doing them because the car is getting older. Other recommended manufacturers charge substantially more.

My car is in for its annual service with my indie Advantgarde Clevedon next week, I'm going to have a chat with Steve about it. He's a SLR expert, perhaps some ideas can transfer to mine

I mean both Kleeman and your installers must by now have a database both on our M113 engines and a whole bunch of others from various manufacturers, which they've modified. So they should be in a position to state whether our mills are in the top, middle or lower league regarding ongoing reliability.

Don't know but I do know per Davie and Cory at Kleemann (post 329)

From DAVIETHESCAFF
M113 Kleemann supercharger no more!
I was planning putting a Kleemann supercharger on Mabel. However, after contacting the UK dealer, I was told it wasn't available. I upped the ante and got in touch with Kleemann HQ in Denmark. The CEO replied "It's a very old kit (2005) and production tools create issues and the suppliers can't at the moment tell me if we can or will ever get parts". At jbanks15's suggestion I contacted the technical manager at Kleemann USA, but he said that there isn't one lying in stock anywhere on the planet and that my only option would be ebay.

Looks like Jeff's Beast got the last new one!

So Mabel doesn't get her treat .................. unless Renntech get back to me with some positive news

******************************
So I would buy any Kleemann parts for the M113 like those headers/down pipes, etc before they also go bye bye :D

Why don't you Dave ask directly from Claus from DK HQ? Or is it because GBP to DKR ratio? All of my Kleeman purchases has come directly from Claus.

My headers have been now 20k km. Zero problems.

Yes, I'd be inclined to enquire directly about a 'leftover' SC as well.

Emailed and Claus CEO Kleemann responded very quickly.

He quoted normal price including postage an VAT as €1578, but would do them for €1000. Whilst a good reduction, that's about £890 versus £780 from Kleemann USA.

I have asked Claus if he can beat the £780. And also a further discount for a group buy. I'll let you know when I get a response.

Claus has come back and matched the £780 :tu:

He says that Kleemann USA don't sell outside the USA, so I guess I shouldn't have been quoted for postage.

So I'm back to £780.

Let's see what my indie says when I see them next Weds, I'm thinking they fit the headers and liaise with Kleemann or Eurocharged regarding the ECU upgrade.

Either way I am very tempted.

Is that price including delivery Dave?
