What happens if you put the top down while driving (no mod-top)? Also, would you think that the top would work itself out of alignment if it catches the wind while the car is moving?

BTW: Spoke to MB about the sprocket recall and they said if the court determines that it is a factory recall (Aug 17-2015), it will be repaired at no expense to owner. In my case, if not a recall, I have extended warranty and it would be covered, except for the deductable ($250.00).

probably not. you will probably stop the car as soon as it starts beeping and top will not proceed either up or down so you will reverse the procedure and be glad you have not done any damage. keep doing it and you probably will do damage

get a smarttop :D

Just use common sense when actuating the roof. Do not do it on a really bumpy road or when the wind is abnormally strong.

I use the moving top actuation when I am sitting at lights and the light changes before it is done actuating.
