I am female and had a milestone birthday almost a year ago. It has taken me 11 months to find this car and believe me I went through a lot of makes, models, years, and types of cars to find this 1998 SLK 230. I bought it last week AS IS . I had it certified and Etested myself. This saved me a little bit of money as the original owner had the car on consignment with a dealer. The dealer would have detailed the car and certified and Etested for a fee and added it to the price.
The original owner before me ordered the car from Mercedes back in 1997 and got it in the spring of 1998. He kept it near mint condition with only 110,000 kms. I have already ordered some touch up paint for the red and black interior from Germany. Original finish starting to peel from around the gear shift and door pulls but otherwise I have nothing to complain about or fix. Body is black with zero rust and all I had to do was put new back brakes on the car and 4 nice tires. The original owner updated the stereo to a JVC unit. It now has Bluetooth, USB, and in dash Disc Player. The gentlemen was a technical savvy man so he was able to program the roof to open with a remote control which I can see myself using on hot summer days. I have only had the car back from the garage less than 24 hours so I have not programmed the Bluetooth or automatic garage door opener but I will get to it eventually. I can't wait for the summer although I love the fact that it is mild right now and I was able to test the roof and take it for a nice 2 hour drive down the 40l.
