OK so not an SLK issue but rather an E series problem. My wipers have left the building and the rain is coming. Fuses are good. There were no precursory symptoms such as intermittent operation, etc. they simply stopped working. A friend suggested the rain sensor may be faulty. What I'd like to do is jump it to see if the wipers will work. Has anyone done this? The car is an 05, as is my SLK 350. I'd be willing to bet it's the same part number. I would appreciate any input on this subject.

They should work in 'manual' mode, irrespective of the rain sensor... automatic operation (on the SLK at least) is only from the first position (when you twist the wiper stalk)

You could pull the connector from the sensor, but (guessing here) you'd probably loose the auto lights too ...

Pretty sure you could code for "Light Sensor Only" too ....
