Or are all MB dealers crap!

My car was ordered 4 months ago for a delivery in March or April this year. I had not had any contact from the dealer since I signed on the dotted line so last Tuesday I popped in to see how things were progressing.

The guy who sold me the car was "on a course" but their finance guy dug out the paperwork and told me the car was in their storage facility awaiting confirmation from me when I wanted to collect it. I couldn't give a date there and then because I didn't have my work diary with me.

During our conversation I let slip that I hadn't decided whether I was going to raid my savings to pay the balance or take out a PCP loan. At that point he said he would email me the details of their deal that day and send the info, plus gap insurance info and MB 7 day free insurance details in the post.

It took me 4 days of calls and emails to get the information by email and a week later I am still waiting for the other info to arrive in the post.

I have still to hear from the salesman that the car is available and arrange a collection day.

If this is typical of the service I can expect then I am going to rue buying my SLK. :td:

i think most car dealerships are full of salespeople who are untruthfull and treat their customers as if they are stupid i have owned 5 mercedes and have allways found this in one way or another allthough i love the thrill and the cars shame because they spoil the history and heritage

I'd be tempted to tell them to stuff it and go elsewhere, if they treat you like this on a sale, what are they going to be like if you have a problem?

Anyway, Mercedes should send you a customer satisfaction survey after you've taken delivery of the car, you can let them know how you feel. I would name names and find another dealer to service your car.

PS you can complain to MB UK in Milton Keens if your unhappy.

I should say that I was unhappy with the first sales guy I delt with and said I wanted to see another, which I did. I made sure that this was known on the survey.

After you got the car, a nice woman will call you. She will ask you about the dealer, if he has shown you the workshop, if the car was clean and so on.

If you negate all her questions, you wreck them 4% of their commisssion! That could be your punishment!

My thoughts exactly which is why I was getting a bit peeved.

An email this evening generated a phone call within 10 minutes from the salesman full of apologies.

He was going to ring me tomorrow and they haven't contacted any of the other 21 buyers with cars lined up for delivery on 1st March yet.

Honda dealers were a lot more attentive and I was only spending £26k with them

It's too late to cancel the deal I think and I am really looking forward to owning an SLK. A customer satisfaction survey will indeed reflext my experiences.
