I don't have allergy issues but is MBZ cabin filter really necessary? I decided to take a look at my current cabin filter and when I removed the cabin filter cover from underneath the glove compartment, everything fell on the floor of my SLK 350 and it made it difficult to figure out how to put back everything back into my car. I had a heck of a time to figure out how to put back the cabin filter cover back in place and once I figured this out, I was wondering whether it was worth the effort to put back the cabin filter? If I don't put back the cabin filter, the fan should blow the air much better without the cabin filter, correct?

I mean as long as I own the car and if I don't have allergy issue, should I still re-install the cabin filter back into my car?

Thank you,
Peter

As well as ventilation into the car, I'm sure the filter also helps with the proper running of the heating and air conditioning.
Now you've got the old filter out I would replace it

If you don’t put the filter in, dust will start to accumulate in the nooks and crannies of the machinery of air-conditioning. At some point there will be enough to impair the proper functioning of the system. Air filters are not there for your lungs as much as they are for the cars insides. Why do you think they have engine air filter‘s?

I'll put back the filter. The filter is still clean. I tried to blow the dust out of the filter with air compressor and nothing came out.

Thanks for replying.
