Hi all. I recently purchased a 2007 SLK 280. It had 35800 miles at the time of purchase, and it looked like a brand new car. I haven't purchased a used car since my dental school days. I took the car to an independent MB mechanic who ran a diagnostic. The diagnostic showed that I needed a new intake manifold, a camshaft adjustment, and it showed that I had a vacuum leak. I bought the intake manifold and gasket at cost online, and the dealer installed it. No charge on the camshaft adjustment. I did have to pay to replace the leaky hose. Of course, I changed the oil and filter as well. Now, it needs air filter and cabin filter; new front brakes; and a brake flush. Been using either Chevron Premium with Techron or Shell Premium Nitro Plus. I have the Gas Buddy app on my iPhone; so, I am able to find the cheapest gas wherever I am. It's a pleasure to join this board. I hope to learn a great deal!
