Hi
Ive only had my SLK a few weeks and the red and black leather interior is mint although I have noticed that the red " leather" around the console is easily removed when knock with belt buckle for example
What can I do to protect it before anymore gets chipped off

thanks mike

One way to protect it, is just don't touch it. Mercedes did a poor job on all the r170s with their interior. They used latex paint, or some sort of form of latex. Once it hit different climates, it all just started it rub and scratch off. Also there plastic began to crack all over too. Very fragile interior. Lucky when i bought my car last year at thanksgiving, i found another slk in the junkyard near buy and took the whole interior because mine was so cracked, and here is my story in the link below.

interior

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Your interior looks great but mine is mint and obviously you are going to get wear to it, surely there must be something out there
