Interior Trim Question

1695 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Delucas
The interior shown below is in a 2006 SLK55, Fire Opal Red paint. I have never seen this before. Is this a factory option or was this a DIY ?

Thanks,
Horace

I dunno, I'm just not a fan of wood trim in a sports car.... that red stripe on the glove box looks pretty cool though
then go for carbon fiber! see my albums!

There are several aftermarket trim options (mostly in the US). You don't have to go with either wood or carbon, there's aluminium and plastic covers. I have carbon which is nice but having seen the picture you have I think I'd go for something fresher again.

.....and the spoiler doesn't look quite right either....

I was looking at this '55 as a possible purchase; but, the more I look, the more hesitant I become. The CarFax shows a recent left rear collision. I'd be willing to bet that the red interior accents were done when the rear was being repainted. The accident might also explain that non-OEM-looking spoiler.

At this point, I haven't made a trip to the dealership. Worth a look.... or move on ?
find another. warm fuzzies should be paid attention to
but it does not hurt to look. leave your wallet at home
they will ask for your license for a test drive but will really be doing a credit check with it

I know its trying to match the outside paintwork etc
But it just does not go with the rest of the cream and black interior .

I think id be braking every time i glanced at it .
