Hi all,

We've picked up a 1999 SLK230Auto that needs a bit of a s'pruce' up on the interior; the interior is duo tone - black leather seats with 'cream' inserts and the same 'cream' colour on the dashboard, console and interior door handles. This 'cream' colour has obv been sparyed over the base black by MB and has worn away in those areas of high abrasion ie near the gearstick and near the drivers leg etc.
Q. any one out there have any idea how i find out the colour/code etc of the 'cream' colour so i can have some chance of obtaining the correct colour for ordering a vinyl spray?

Cheers,

If you have a datacard for your car it may be listed on that.

If you haven't already got one, post a request for one, including your vin #, and someone will get back to you.

Thanks DavietheScaff - we don't have a datacard but we do have the VIN.
Q. Do i need to start a new topic to request the datacard?

Also, I need to scribe some info on us in the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section; i've looked but can't see where to go - any pointers?

Cheers,

Many thanks jbanks15, i'm on the case!
vin: 1704472f120746
Paint code = 352

I'm after the code/RAL or anything that tells me what colour the cream dash/console/door handles is inside - apparently it's Quartz but no-one in the aftermarket world would recognise that so i need some sort of code for the colour.

Off to post intro now...!

Hi,

Yeah, ours looks to be exactly the same colours as shown, particulalry the 'cream' (Sienna Beige!) and without the wood.
Looks cool so i'm reckoning ours should have the coloured glove box but has probably been changed or, as the colour has rubbed off, then they've taken the colour off completely!

Cheers,

Your interior paint code is 225
352 has to do with something else.

There is a company in Germany called Volico de & they sell's paint on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/origMercedes-SLK-170-Leather-Interior-paint-Quarz-Sand-/150844429169?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231f075371
& from their website http://volico.de/webshop/products/slk-r170/?lang=en
I have used their paint, its an exact match & is of the best quality.

hi SLK230Auto,
was wondering if you managed to do the re spray yet? If so, how did it turn out and what paint source did you use? I am looking to freshen mine up and was thinking of using the volico brand as it has had great reviews.

Hi,
I've painted the door handles and they've come out brilliantly; the colour match is perfect and the paint dries rapido! I used the Volico brand - may seem a little expensive when you buy it, but after you use it it's well worth the money. I've just the consoleare to do next which requires it's removal so, weathervpermitting, i'll do thatvthis weekend.
In a nutshell, i recommend the Volico paint as it's indiscernible from the original.
