my instrument cluster illumination doesn,t work..started with one side out,but a whack on the console cured that, then the other side went, another whack and all was well.then they both went, whacks didn,t work so started to investigate. cluster out, checked bulbs, both ok,replaced anyway (just in case)still nothing, checked fuse...ok nipped up contacts anyway.still nothing. cluster out again, checked bulb holders,in case contacts wern,t tight (thought whacks on dash might indicate loose contacts)...still no joy. not an electrician so out of ideas:crying:

Sounds like the cluster connectors are not seated properly. Especially the LH one as it really has to seat properly with the grey lock tab in the fully open (down) position. Had a similar issue & also affects the fuel gauge. As far as i was concerned it was seated. Then after a bit more playing as there's not much room, everything worked
