I'm installing a new head unit. I have both adapters from Matra 70-1784 and 70-1787; neither are the right one.

I think I can just make my adapter by moving the pins, but not sure what the exact pinout should be.



Yes I have searched, but SLK.COM is dead and other posts don't have the pinouts.

I'm adding multiple posts with pics.

If someone has a link for the pinouts please post up..

I've found the pinout for the R171:

A01 Blue ESP/ETS/BAS control module, speed dependant volume control, VSS NAV
A02 Green Data link connector (DTC readout) / Phone mute
A03 Gray Backup lamps reverse NAV
A04 Red Battery (circuit 30) +12V constant on, fuse F21 25A
A05 Orange FM AM WEATHERBAND amplifier and Bose premium sound system power
A06 White PWM dimming and DAY/NIGHT headlight, instrument lights
A07 Pink Power (circuit 15) +12V switched, ignition, fuse F10 10A
A08 Brown Ground

B01 Red Right rear door speaker + Bose premium sound system
B02 Gray Right rear door speaker - Bose premium sound system
B03 Orange Right front door speaker + Bose premium sound system
B04 White Right front door speaker - Bose premium sound system
B05 Blue Left front door speaker + Bose premium sound system
B06 Green Left front door speaker - Bose premium sound system
B07 Pink Left rear door speaker + Bose premium sound system
B08 Orange Left rear door speaker - Bose premium sound system

Pin Color Description Notes
01 Gray CD changer (in trunk) - AUX stereo audio in right AUX in with Blaupunkt AUXIN2R
02 White CD changer (in trunk) - AUX stereo audio in left
03 Black CD changer (in trunk) - common/coax shield for 1 & 2
04 Red CD changer (in trunk) - power, constant on 12V
05 Orange CD changer (in trunk) - power, switched 12V, ignition
06 Black CD changer (in trunk) - common/coax shield for CDC data lines 8 to 10
07 Pink CD changer (in trunk) - D2B wakeup (don't use as power source)
08 Blue CD changer (in trunk) - CDC data
09 Yellow CD changer (in trunk) - CDC data
10 Green CD changer (in trunk) - CDC data

Woolly,
I thought this was labeled R171 (pulled from mbenz.com), it has more connections than I have (my B1-2 & B7-8 are empty) on my R170. I have it working, but have quite a few empty connections.

Looking at it again - that pinout is for a 4 door saloon, so you will have a lot more empty sockets (rear door speakers etc.)
