I will say I've turned my head my fair share for red and yellow SLKs, but not really for any others. I've passed up red Miatas, Porches, BMWs, but I always turn for the SLK, even before I realize it's an SLK.
Now here's the thing - I LOVE red and blue as colors, but there's no true blue SLK (yes there's the caspian blue but eh..) and I've always heard that getting any red convertible just screams of "mid life crisis." At 23, I certainly hope I haven't reached the mid way point on my life!
I do love the Mars Red, though. Absolutely gorgeous. *drool*
I have a red MX5 (until the end of the month) I had set my heart on a red SLK. But when I saw the Periclase with red leather, and it being a very uncommon colour, I was sold on it. Having said that, I do think red is a sports car colour and maybe if I am still driving when I have finished paying for this one, I could be tempted to look for a red one ( said in a whisper in case "she who must be obeyed" is listening
I do prefer the darker Red (not sure of the name) the SLK comes in , The Mars Red is is too close to them loud shoutly sports car from Italy you know the one , But saying that a nice classic is always good in bright red .
