HI, I just purchase a 2006 SLK and I love it but the highway noise over 55 mph is pretty unbearable. Is this standard? Can you insulate the floor or cabin to cut down on the noise? Thanks for your suggestions and reply

Please update your location and vehicle (model and year,ie 2007 SLK 350) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information if you haven’t.
Follow exactly to update: ‘Usercp’ at the top of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’. Your profile is NOT updated in your ‘personal garage’.

Hi Gary, and welcome from the UK Midlands! :)

As Jeff has already mentioned above, it would be great if you could add your location and car details into your forum profile, please (instructions included in Jeff's post above). Thanks! :tu:

I certainly haven't noticed excessive highway noise in my SLK. Which model of SLK do you have, which tyres and what condition are they in? With a little more info, I'm sure someone will be able to offer some useful advice.

Welcome from Madrid ...

It all depends what you're used to ! Due to the folding roof mechanism , the Slk isn't as well soundproofed as other cars might be , but I would never say it's unbearable ..
As the others have suggested , check your tyres for make and presssure , but the only real way your going to know if it's related to your car or all Slks , is to go out in a different Slk and compare !
