Well, I just joined the SLK 280 owner ranks yesterday.

I was looking for a small, fun car and went through a bunch before settling on the SLK. Doing my homework, I came across this site and found it a great source of info. Much too detailed until I get to know my car better, but I'm sure I'll be coming back here a lot!

Let's call this the "retirement car." Gave my son my old Altima with 212K miles to clear the decks. I'm a former electrical/software engineer getting used to having some extra time.

Car is 2007 model, 44K miles.

There are still a bunch of things I can't quite figure out and will be digging or asking for help around here. But for now, I'm just having fun and trying to figure where I can put stuff in the cabin.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Welcome from Wirral, England.
Hello and welcome from SW France..:smile::smile:

From personal experience.. I would suggest you read the User/Owner Manual at least twice (and then keep it handy for future reference).

We've had our car a year now and are still learning...:grin::grin:

Also, the Search facility is very useful as there is rarely a "happening" that has not happened before to someone on the Forum.

Good luck

So true! Fortunately, I was able to find the manual online, download it and read it all (well, except for a bunch of the warnings) while car shopping. Read it again to make a checklist before buying it. Even with all that, I couldn't find the map lights for a couple of days!

Doubly true. I've been mining this site for all sorts of info trying to fix a few problems and figure out how to carry a bike [or not] on the car.

This site is amazing.
