Ive had 4 Nissan Zeds (no roadsters) over 7 years including the Nismo 370Z. Im looking for a change now and started looking at Cayman/Boxster 981 (greatcars but expensive maintenance)....Then my attention turned to the SLKs.

I did look back in the day at the first generation as well as the second. Then I ended up with the Z. Which have been reliable with 1 warranty claim for a starter motor in over 7 years. I had other niggly issues but nothing mechanical....

My old man had a E240 saloon back in 1994 direct from Germany to Lagos. My older brother had an E250D class coupe white back in 2015 here in London.

Anyway Im still in the research phase and would like a 55 V8 ideally for those drives in the Chilterns or beyond! Maybe its time to move on after many years and 4 Nissans. The new model ofcourse not coming to UK interestingly weighs as much as the SLK with a twin turbo and 350 ft lbs/400hp. The SLK offers a V8 with more NA power!

So lets see! Summers coming meaning higher prices. I read I can get the VIN and the options can be seen on a data card?! Thanks!

Thanks all. Seems like a decently reliable car. It could be a few months but be good to get in a test drive or two before summer both 172 and 171....Then the SLK 32 is probably next on the ULEZ. Its going to be a weekend car and maybe the odd gym/shopping trip. A road trip once in a while. If anyone is close to West or North West London...Windsor, Ascot, Marlow, Reading or the like can take a nosey around.

My current mpg on the Z is around 24-25 mixed. The previous service was £500 everything excluding diff and gearbox.
