Hi all,
Just thought i'd say hello, I bought a 2003 SLK 230 a couple of weeks ago.

I've got an ML280 that always seems to be in the workshop being fixed so rather than hiring a car each time it goes in, I bought myself another car :D

I told my wife I was going to get a small car, although I think she probably thought I meant something economical haha

Loving driving it so far, I've been riding motorbikes since i was a teenager and driving with the top down gives me the same feeling as riding the bike which is fantastic!

It's in good condition but looks like it's had a front end bump at some stage and it wasn't resprayed very well.

First things i'm doing is getting the bubbling on the arches sorted, then Smartop then the alloys refinished (although they're not too bad).

Cheers,

Dez

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Florida!

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable or to ‘edit’, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM/edit. You can always pm a moderator.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
FREE!! Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

Hi Dez, and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us! :)

Where are you around Leicester?... I'm in Leicester Forest East.

We have quite a few members in the UK (particularly active in the Midlands) that like to meet up from time to time. If you're interested in joining us sometime, just keep an eye on the UK Region section, as we post meeting plans there! :tu:

There's a summary post that I maintain for all UK meets here, and links to examples and pictures from this year's past meets are available here.

Also, don’t forget to lube those seals:
Thank you

Hi Dez, welcome from the Wirral.

There are two places in the world that are highly active for meets.
Florida and the Midlands.

The UK region has many threads wrt meets and a calendar, see dbrgns post for links.

Some on the horizon meets and a few past ones to get an idea of what they are like.

We regularly travel from the Wirral to the Midlands meets. They are that good.

Hi Dave, I'm in LFE too, not far from the Braunstone Crossroads!

Are there regular meet ups going good on? I saw there was one for the MB club over near Loughborough?

Cheers

Hi Dez

I'm on the estate opposite the Red Cow. My car doesn't get driven every day, as I work from home, but you may see it around from time to time (see pic in my sig for what it looks like).

The MB club meets are different to those we organise here through SLKWorld. I've only been to one MB club meet, but have been to lots of SLKWorld meets (I've even proposed/organised some of them here too).

I know that you'd be made extremely welcome at any of our SLKWorld meets... one that we do quite often (although don't have one booked at the moment) is a weekend breakfast gathering at the café at Donington Park... a great breakfast, and opportunity to chat about our cars.

Just keep an eye on the UK region section if you'd like to join us, and feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions (you can PM moderators, even before you have 15 posts).

Cheers, Dave
