Trying to decide between what to get, there's a (All around $26k):

2008 SLK 280 with 35k miles, three previous owners and little to no service (Carfax isn't showing ANY service records)

2009 SLK 300 with 38k miles, one lease owner with regular service records but visible interior damage (cracked radio screen; it looks like somebody punched it) and wear & tear around the handbrake. I believe this one will be about 1 to 1.5k more expensive than the 2008 SLK

2009 Nissan 370z Touring with 32k miles and two owners

I am learning towards the 2009 SLK because it's got a better service record than the 2008 even if it has the weird interior damages (it's nothing serious). My old car was a 350z, and I feel like it'd just be the same if I got a 370z. HOWEVER, I can totally live with that because they're both extremely nice cars, and the Mercedes Benz is supposedly really expensive when it comes to maintenance. It tends to rain and snow in my area too, so I'm really not too sure.

What do you guys say?

Hi, welcome from Barrhead, Scotland.

Yep … I agree with the last two posts … definitely a 55. For your budget you'd get a reasonably low mileage example, and, as has been mentioned , the engine's pretty well bulletproof.

‘additional information’ near the bottom,
edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’.
Info in your garage does not update your profile.

The reason that we ask you to update vehicle/location details
is to save repeating the same information every time that you ask a question.

Also, this site is truly worldwide. That can matter when you ask for help and information.
Are you looking for a bonnet, or a hood, a boot, or a trunk? Makes a difference.
Driving on the left, or the right?

Only likely to get one answer here, it is an SLK forum.

Drive both and decide.
MB servicing can be done at MB independents. Cheaper labour charge.

Some perspective from a 370z owner:

First, if you're paying $26k for a non-Nismo, you're overpaying. Two years ago, I bought my 2010 Sport 6MT with 19k on the clock for $21k, and I overpaid! You can easily find these under 20k.

Second, the Z is "technically" a GT car, but as a daily driver, it's actually closer to a track car. The suspension is a bit harsh, the thinly-damped interior passes a lot of road noise, and the throttle mapping in 1st/2nd gear is a bit odd (it pulls a lot of power to prevent wheelspin). So, on the road, it can be frustrating to drive.

But good god, if you put that thing on a road course, it will make you smile from ear to ear. The power is just right and the balance is perfect. With about $1000 in mods (brakes, oil cooler, yaw sensor disable), it can be a dedicated weekend warrior. So, if that's what you want, go Z...you'll love it.

If you're looking for a cozy sports coupe, definitely consider the SLKs.

Feel free to ask away about the Z if you have any questions. You can also poke around the370.com forum for buying tips and such.

370z is not a hardtop convertible
end of story
That's the first point in favour of the Zed. Hardtop all the way! Convertible version looks sort of not right.
Zeds can be beasts, with simple , not very expensive mods, as Slipangle has already mentioned. (I still prefer the 300ZX TT to a 370,or 350Z ) Great engine, but a pig to work on!
I have just sold an R170 , end of my short attraction to SLK's. mainly because of several friends seriously asking if I'd bought it for my wife or daughter. and the clincher comment - once again, deadly serious, "why would you want a Suzuki Cappuccino?'"
